Test what you are told.
Every Christian eventually hears something from a pastor, teacher, commentator, friend, or political leader that does not sit right. That moment is not a reason to abandon faith. It is a reason to go deeper.
Return to Scripture. Pray. Seek wise counsel. Look honestly at the facts. Ask whether your reaction comes from conviction, pride, fear, or convenience. No earthly voice is above examination, including the voices we trust most.
We do not borrow our convictions. We build them on truth.
Truth and humility belong together.
Some matters are clear. Others require patience and discernment. Confidence does not excuse cruelty, and humility does not require silence. We can hold a firm conviction while admitting that we are still learning how to live it faithfully.
The goal is not to win every argument. The goal is to remain faithful to Christ when the argument is over and our character is still on display.
Faith must become visible.
A shirt can carry a symbol. Only a life can carry its meaning. Faith should show up in our work, our promises, our restraint, our courage, and the dignity we give people who disagree with us.
This is not performative faith. It is steady obedience when nobody is applauding.
